Upgrade or change your plan
Move between plans any time. Start a paid subscription from the trial, jump up a tier when traffic grows, drop down if it shrinks, switch between monthly and yearly, or cancel. Everything routes through Stripe Checkout or the Stripe Billing Portal, so card details and tax stay on Stripe's side.
From Free Trial to a paid plan
The first transition most accounts make.
- Open Settings → Plan & Billing.
- Click Upgrade. The Pricing Plans dialog opens.
- Drag the slider to the volume you need. It names the tier in events and shows the price per month, and the Monthly / Yearly toggle above it carries the yearly discount. Past 10M the slider offers Contact Sales instead of a price.
- Click Update on the tier you want. You're redirected to a hosted Stripe Checkout page.
- Enter card details (or use a saved Stripe payment method, Apple Pay, Google Pay, or Link).
- Confirm. Stripe charges immediately and bounces you back to the dashboard with the new plan active.
The trial isn't paused or carried over. Once Checkout completes, the account is on a paid plan from that moment, with the trial replaced cleanly. No refund for unused trial days (the trial was free).
Change plan on an active subscription
Already on a paid plan and want to move? The dashboard takes a different path that doesn't require fresh Checkout:
- Settings → Plan & Billing → Update plan.
- Pick the new tier in the Pricing Plans dialog.
- Click Update. Your current tier shows Current plan and cannot be picked.
The change applies immediately with proration enabled. Stripe calculates the unused portion of the current period at the old rate, the remaining portion at the new rate, and charges or credits the difference automatically:
- Upgrade. Charged the prorated difference immediately. The new tier takes effect right away.
- Downgrade. Credited the prorated difference toward your next invoice. The new tier applies right away.
Switching cadence (monthly to yearly or vice versa) works the same way. Proration handles the math.
Picking a plan while a cancellation is pending also lifts the cancellation. The subscription continues on the new tier and renews as usual.
Cancel a subscription
Cancel from the Stripe Customer Portal:
- Settings → Plan & Billing → Manage. The dashboard opens your Stripe portal session.
- Click Cancel subscription.
- Confirm.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you already paid for. Until then the subscription stays active, and Plan & Billing shows a Subscription canceled card with the date your plan ends. The card carries a Resume Subscription button that lifts the cancellation without opening Stripe. On that date Stripe ends the subscription.
After cancellation:
- Until the period ends. Everything works as before.
- After the period ends. The subscription is over, and your sites stop recording new visits, usually within a minute. Plan & Billing shows No active subscription with a Choose a plan button, each of your own sites outside Free Access carries a Not collecting badge in the sites list, and opening one shows Tracking has stopped in place of the reports. Your sites and their data stay in your account until you delete it, and you can subscribe again at any time from Plan & Billing. Collection resumes within a minute of a new subscription.
If your account qualifies for hobby-tier free access (.edu, .github.io, or .gitlab.io), those sites continue under Free Access indefinitely after cancellation. Cancel only affects the paid portion.
Resume a cancellation
Changed your mind during the period before cancellation takes effect? You can undo it without losing anything:
- Open Settings → Plan & Billing.
- Click Resume Subscription on the Subscription canceled card.
The cancellation is lifted at once, the card goes away, and the next renewal happens on its scheduled date. Nothing is charged and the plan stays as it was. A second click is harmless: a subscription that is no longer cancelled answers that it is already active. Reactivate subscription in the Stripe portal does the same thing if you are already there.
Once the period has ended, there is nothing left to resume. Plan & Billing offers Choose a plan instead, and your sites and their data are still there.
When changes take effect

| Resubscribe (after period end) | Immediate via new Checkout |
What you can't do from the dashboard
A handful of actions live in the Stripe Billing Portal: updating card details, changing billing address for tax, downloading PDF invoices, viewing payment history. See Invoices & billing portal.
