Plans & pricing
Pricing is built around one number: how many pageviews and custom events all your sites record in a month. Engagement, the beacon that measures time on page, is never counted. You pay more when you measure more traffic.
What counts as an event
Custom events are not only the ones you write yourself. The Standard tracking script, which is the default, records three kinds for you, and every one of them counts towards your plan:
| Recorded automatically | Event name | When it fires |
|---|---|---|
| Outbound link clicks | Outbound Link Click | A link is clicked and its host differs from the page it sits on |
| File downloads | File Download | A link points at a PDF, ZIP, DOC, XLS, CSV, MP3, MP4 or another downloadable file, or carries a download attribute |
| Tagged clicks and form submits | whatever you named it | An element or a form you marked with data-statable-event is clicked or submitted |
Form submissions are the one that needs a word of care: only forms you have tagged are recorded, so an untagged form costs you nothing.
Pageviews count wherever the tracking code runs, error pages included: a view of a 404 page that carries the code counts like any other page.
A documentation site whose pages are mostly links out, or a site with a downloads page, can therefore record noticeably more than its pageview count. The Events report shows the split, and custom events describes each of these in full.
Switching a feature off under Tracking features stops the collection, so those events stop counting from that moment. It does not remove what was already recorded, and the month in progress keeps what it has.
Free Trial
Every account gets a 30-day Free Trial. It starts when you add your first website that isn't on Free Access, so the 30 days don't run while you look around. During the trial:
- The full current feature set is available on every domain you add.
- Nothing is capped. The dashboard shows a plan limit beside your usage, but on a trial that is the smallest plan your traffic would fit, not a ceiling. It moves up as you track more.
- No payment method required.
- The trial converts the moment you complete a Stripe Checkout. No awkward "downgrade then re-upgrade" step.
After 30 days the trial ends. If you haven't picked a paid plan, the account drops into a 30-day grace period. Your sites go on recording, and the dashboard is replaced by a card naming the date grace runs out, with an Upgrade now button. Subscribe and your reports come back, the grace period traffic with them. When grace runs out without a subscription, your sites stop recording new visits. The sites list then marks each site Not collecting, and a site opens on Tracking has stopped instead of its reports. What was already collected stays in the account, and collection resumes within a minute of a subscription.
Throughout the trial and the grace period, the usage figure counts the last 30 days of traffic.
Free Access (hobby projects)
Permanent free analytics for these kinds of project:
.edudomains. University courses, lab sites, student projects, faculty pages. Site URL must end in.edu..github.iodomains. Open-source project pages and personal sites on GitHub Pages..gitlab.iodomains. Open-source project pages and personal sites on GitLab Pages.
Free Access is per-site, not per-account. You can run a paid subscription for commercial sites and have a .edu, .github.io, or .gitlab.io site on free in the same account. Eligibility rests on the domain suffix alone, so a qualifying site stays free however much traffic it records.
Hobby install model
Hobby plans have no standalone tracker script. Analytics ship bundled inside one of the public widgets (live counter, globe, map, top countries). Pick the widget you want under Site settings → Widget and the dashboard generates the install snippet. The widget renders on the page and carries a small "Powered by Statable" attribution — that's the trade for unlimited free use.
Paid plans
Eight tiers, one ladder. Every paid plan carries the same feature set, so the tier decides only your monthly pageview allowance.
| Monthly pageviews | Monthly | Yearly, per month |
|---|---|---|
| 10,000 | $9 | $7 |
| 100,000 | $19 | $15 |
| 200,000 | $29 | $23 |
| 500,000 | $49 | $39 |
| 1,000,000 | $69 | $55 |
| 2,000,000 | $89 | $71 |
| 5,000,000 | $129 | $103 |
| 10,000,000 | $169 | $135 |
Prices are in USD and exclude VAT where it applies. Above 10,000,000 pageviews a month, pricing is custom: contact sales.
Two cadences:
- Monthly. Billed every month, easy to cancel.
- Yearly. Billed once a year and saves at least 20% against twelve months of monthly billing. The 10K tier works out at $7 a month, or $84 for the year.
You can switch cadences any time via Stripe Checkout or the Billing Portal. The change is prorated.
statable.com/pricing and Settings → Plan & Billing → Update plan always show live pricing. If a number here ever disagrees with them, they are right.

- Public dashboards. Share read-only stats with a tokenized link.
- Embed widgets. Live counter, country map, globe, ready to drop into any site.
Going over your limit
Statable does not hard-cut tracking when you cross your plan limit. The behavior is graceful:
- Events keep flowing into the database. You don't lose data.
- The profile icon in the top-right corner opens a usage meter labelled Events. It turns yellow at 90% of your tier and red once you go over it. The bar stops at 100% however far over you go, while the event count beside it keeps climbing. The usage bar in Settings → Plan & Billing uses the same colors.
- No surprise auto-upgrade, no automatic charge. Sustained, large overages may trigger manual outreach.
A traffic spike from a Hacker News front page should not punish you. Move tiers when traffic settles at the new level.
How to see your current plan
The dashboard shows your active plan, current period and usage at Settings → Plan & Billing. An account with no subscription sees No active subscription and a Choose a plan button here instead. The usage card shows Total events against your limit, split into Total pageviews and Total custom events. Click Update plan to see the available tiers with current pricing.
